How to Use Your QLM Node-Locked License

Activating your QLM Node-Locked License Online

1. Open Simio.
2. Click “File” and then “Licensing”.
3. Select the correct licensing type in Simio.
   1. If this is your first license, choose “Node-Locked & Cloud-Based Floating”.
   2. If this is not your first license, choose “Change License Type” and then “Node-Locked & Cloud-Based Floating”.
4. Click “Activate Your License”.
5. Click “Activate Online”.
6. Enter “Activation Key” provided by Simio Licensing (licensing@simio.com).
7. Click “Activate License Key”.
8. Your License is Activated!
9. Click “Finish”. You should see the edition of software received by your organization in Simio’s title bar.

Activating your Subscription QLM Node-Locked License Offline

1. Open Simio.
2. Click “File” and then “Licensing”.
3. Select the correct licensing type in Simio.
   1. If this is your first license, choose “Node-Locked & Cloud-Based Floating”.
   2. If this is not your first license, choose “Change License Type” and then “Node-Locked & Cloud-Based Floating”.
4. Click “Activate Your License”.
5. Click “Activate Offline”.
6. Enter “Activation Key” provided by Simio Licensing (licensing@simio.com).
7. The “Computer Identifier” should be automatically populated with your computer’s unique identifier.
8. Click “Scan QR Code”.
9. Using a “Smart Device”, scan the QR Code that appears in the window. This will take you to a website that has your Unique Computer Key.
10. Click “Close” to close the QR code dialog box.
11. Enter “Computer Key” with the Unique Computer Key located on your “Smart Device”.
12. Click “Activate”.
13. Your License is Activated!
14. Click “Finish”. You should see the edition of software received by your organization in Simio’s title bar.

Activating your Perpetual QLM Node-Locked License Offline

1. Open Simio.
2. Click “File” and then “Licensing”.
3. Select the correct licensing type in Simio.
   1. If this is your first license, choose “Node-Locked & Cloud-Based Floating”
   2. If this is not your first license, choose “Change License Type” and then “Node-Locked & Cloud-Based Floating”.
4. Click “Activate Offline”.
5. The “Computer Identifier” should be automatically populated with your computer’s unique identifier. Note this and save it for later.
6. Go to https://qlm1.net/simio/qlmcustomersite/ with a computer that is online.
7. Click “Activate a License”.
8. Enter “Activation Key” with the key provided by Simio Licensing (licensing@simio.com).
9. Click the dropdown arrow and select “Simio 1.0”.
10. Enter “Computer ID” with the "Computer Identifier" from Step 5
11. Check the “Generate a License File” box (if this is not done, then you will be running Simio in Unlicensed Edition).
12. Click “Activate”.
13. Save the XML file (LicenseFile.xml) and then transfer it to the computer you want to have. Once transferring it to the correct computer, save it to one of these locations:
    1. C:\Users\Public\Documents\Simio
    2. C:\ProgramData\Simio LLC
14. Open the XML file.
15. Copy the PCKey value from the XML file.
16. Return to Simio. Ensure that the “Activation Key” and “Computer ID” are properly filled out.
17. Paste the copied PCKey into the “Computer Key” text box.
18. Click “Activate” and then “Finish”. You should see the edition of software received by your organization in Simio’s title bar.

Activating your QLM Node-Locked License via Command Prompt

1. Open Command Prompt.
2. Enter the following: “FilePathOfSimio.exe” -authenticate:[license key] or something similar.

Deactivating your QLM Node-Locked License Online

1. Open Simio.
2. Click “File” and then “Licensing”.
3. Deactivate your license.
4. Click “Deactivate Your License”.
5. Ensure the correct license key is in the “Activation Key” text box.
6. Click “Deactivate”.
7. Your License was Successfully Deactivated! Click “Finish". The license should now be deactivated, to check this, open Simio and it should open in Unlicensed Edition. Now that the license has been successfully deactivated, it can be reactivated on a different computer (instructions located in “Activation Instructions”).

Deactivating your QLM Node-Locked License Offline

1. Open Simio.
2. Click “File” and then “Licensing”.
3. Deactivate your license.
4. Click “Deactivate Your License”.
5. Ensure the correct license key is in the “Activation Key” text box.
6. Click “Deactivate”.
7. "Could not connect to the License Server to deactivate the license. Would you like to deactivate the license from your smart device by scanning a QR code?”.
   1. Yes: Using a smart device, scan the QR Code that appears in the window and then click “Deactivate” on the smart device. Click “Close”.
   2. No: Save the “Verification Code” for your personal records. Click “OK".
8. Your License was Successfully Deactivated! Click “Finish". The license should now be deactivated. To check this, open Simio and it should open in unlicensed mode. Now that the license has been successfully deactivated, it can be reactivated on a different computer (instructions located in “Activation Instructions”).
