When to keep multiple versions: One reason you might need a specific version of Simio is if you are confident your model works as intended in this version of Simio. The model has passed all verification and validation tests when run in this application version. When moving to a different version of Simio, there is a chance that model behavior could change due to updates in the new Simio application. Keeping a backup Simio application in the version that you are familiar with could be beneficial in case you need to move back to it.
Another reason to keep other versions of the Simio application is when you are collaborating with other users. All users collaborating on a project should use the same version of Simio. If users are not using the same version, the files are at risk of having compatibility problems.
If any of these reasons apply, you might consider keeping multiple versions of Simio on your machine.

When saving off a version of the Simio application, we recommend copying the Simio application folder which can typically be found at this location: C:\Program Files\Simio LLC. This can be a different folder path if Simio was installed in a different location.
Important: Be sure to copy this folder and not rename the existing Simio file.
You can paste this folder into any location you want to store this version of the Simio application. We suggest naming the folder with the version number to easily find the correct Simio version. When you want to run that version of Simio, go to the folder and find the Simio.exe that lives in this folder.
Helpful Tip: You could create shortcuts to different Simio executables to find different versions quicker. You could also pin different Simio versions to your task bar.
When a new version of Simio is installed, it will be installed over the original Simio folder in C:\Program Files\Simio LLC. The copied off folder will remain.
